it’s obviously a way of saying: i’m exhausted, and we haven’t done enough. that’s the message i get from the piece.: we’re tired and we haven’t done enough. for some people, it’s a motivation to do more.. for others, it’s a fashit kholoq.

i am quite sure the columnist or the editors don’t mean it literally. otherwise, would they be publishing bekhsoos at all?

I agree with lots and lots of points in the article…. but I don’t see the point of telling everyone “fuck you”, i don’t like the way the gay movement is being managed, I don’t like “gay friendly” places that much and to say the truth, I don’t particularly like gay people in general, are not that different than heterosexual people. I care about gay rights. And yes we tend to get so self-sufficient that we forget that our activism is not really inclusive… what’s the point of writing such an aggressive article? I mean when I want to leave a comment I am greeted with the following sentence “LEAVE COMMENT – SPEAK YOUR MIND, BUT BE RESPECTFUL!”
Do you think this article was “respectful”? or does it only apply to those who leave comments not those who write the articles?

I see no purple house mentioned in the piece

The problem is that it *sounds like* the criticism is coming straight out of the “purple house” because of the place where it is posted. If this was posted on a neutral blog, no one would be upset. It’s the CONTEXT.

It points out issues. It doesn’t provide solutions, but it does bring up valid points.
