Out of the Shadow

I'm tired of hiding in a world of discrimination
I'm sick of covering myself to be able to walk around
I can't take anymore differentiation
It's time to put my feet on the ground.

I'm tired of keeping secrets about who I am
I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not
Sick of being pictured by your fake cam
But proud to be someone you're not!

You may think I'm an abnormal human being
And that I'm driving towards a dead end,
Yet I'm living a life worth living and I still can't comprehend;
Why do I accept you while you don't accept me?
Why do you throw wrong judgments at me?
Yes, I'm different in my own little way,
But there's nothing in my life that has to do with you
So I'm writing this to say…

You have no right to judge a life that's not yours.
You have no right to keep me “undercover.”
I have all the right to be what I want to be
Not what you want me to be,
Simply because I'm living a life that's mine!
Who ever said being different was a crime?!
It's about time we all get out of this shadow
And show who we really are deep inside.
It's about time that we fight for our right to reside.
